Flying Car Will Reach The Most Remote Places On Earth

From September 1st all the way through the end of November YWAM Ships and GrassrootsNews.tv are partnering up together with I-Tec and AEI to put together a tour across the USA with the first ever FAA approved flying car called the Maverick. The tour is called “Beyond Roads”. The engineering and innovation of this is quite remarkable. You may have heard of Steve Saint whose Dad Nate Saint was killed in the Amazon in the 50’s and about the movie made recently of his life “End of the Spear” well Steve is the designer. He has being a bush pilot and missionary for most of his life and has designed this machine to help reach the most remote places on earth. YWAM ships has purchased one and will use it in Papua New Guinea with the Pacific Link to reach inaccessible tribes along the river. It can deploy floats in place of wheels so it can land on water and work hand in hand with the YWAM medical ship the m/v Pacific Link. AEI has purchased the 2nd unit, both will be on tour together.

Before it gets put on a container to Australia we are planning on sending it on tour across the USA and down to the Panama Canal and back. Along the way as she gets demonstrated large crowds are anticipated. During these PR moments we will be able to explain how we intend to use her and about the YWAM mission family around the world.

Once the Beyond Roads tour (USA and Panama Canal) has been completed it is then being placed in a shipping container and off to Autralia where Beyond Roads 2 will continue this time around the coast of Auz in the south all the way up to Townsville in the north, then up to Papua New Guinea where it will be deployed long term with the YWAM Ships. See www.ywamships.org.au for up the minute reports of the Pacific Link in action. The crew of the “link” are do an amazing job up there. It is really remote. Often called the Africa of the Pacific. Check it out.
