At Port YWAM Kona we have our Fleet Support and Advance Team desks. They are manned by professional mariners and long term YWAM staff who have the responsibility of supporting the vessels weather on deployment or in dry dock. One of the roles they cover is called our DPA Desk. Designated Person Ashore. They monitor levels of various elements on board including manning, fuel, supplies and spare parts. They arrange technical refit times, advance the port with technical arrangements for the Captains and are the Masters 24/7 hotline back home. They monitor weather, sailing routes, GPS, sat communications etc. Here are a few of our tools you might be interested in.
